We will also be providing video footage which you may download and play at your desire sometime in the near future. One thing you may notice is that the videos with lots of action will appear blurry. This is because we have slowed them down to 30 kbs. We will be adding larger videos in the coming weeks for those of you with faster connections. We are also in the process of creating a Durango Multimedia CD-ROM with lots of good video footage. We will be posting more information about this CD-ROM in the near future. Train Videos This is a new form of Real Video using a technology called SURE STREAM. The video will match whatever quality you have set your Real Player to play. If you have fast connection this video quality is awesome. If you have a poor connection the quality isn't as good. If you're not sure how to set your Real Player quality click here. Train Scene on Highway See the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge on Highway 550. It appears as though the train is racing the videographer but in reality the car was pacing the train alongside the highway. The first part of the video is followed up with a scene as the train approached the Highway overpass on Highway 550. Please note: You will need the Real Player 8.0 in order to see the videos. The video shows the train arriving home at the end of the day. Good train whistle included in this scene. Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Arriving Home from Smelter Mountain This video similar to the last is taken from the top of Smelter Mountain. Train Departing for Silverton on Monday June 15, 1998 1 minute 27 seconds Rafting Videos Wild to Mild Rafting at Smelter Rapids This video is a larger video clip and only newer and faster computers can view it. We will be adding a slower version in the near future. This video takes about 3-4 minutes to buffer. Please be patient.
